Flat Plan and Rational

I'm going to use a pale pink background for my magazine front cover in order to appeal to more female students, I think pink is a flirty feminine colour. I want my main image in the middle of my front cover and the sell lines around the main image so that they are clear to read. The masthead has to be the biggest font because its the name of my magazine. The sell lines indicate the genre of my magazine because they mention exams, revision, students and things going on inside of college. The sell lines would appeal to student who currently have exams approaching and need to revise or students interested in sports.

Cover and Contents Pages of Inspiration

Below are examples of magazine covers and contents pages that i'm taking inspiration from for my prelim.

This is a contents page from the magazine Glamour, it has a main image of model who is featured inside of the magazine. The contents is very clearly laid out and easy to read. What the model is wearing matches the body of the text which i think works well because if there was lots of different colours i think it would be too busy.

This is the contents page for VOGUE and again like the one above the contents is laid out clearly and easy to read to readers can find what they are looking for and what page it can be found on. It has a main image which is again an image which can be found within the magazine with page reference. The body of the text is matched to the colours visible in the main image.

I like this contents page because the space either side of the model in the middle means the text is clear to read. I like how the models head takes part of the masthead 'VOGUE' her head is substituted for the 'G'.

The masthead for this magazine is similar to vogue because again the models head is substituting one of the letters of GLAMOUR. The colours of the text compliment the colours in the image creating an eye catching front page.

Brief:print
