Final Product

i am very pleased with my final outcome i did a lot of last minute changes due to a delay on having photos of my models. I think the magazine is very on trend with r&b artists and all the sell lines are valid with whats going on now. I think you can see how vibe magazine which i look at in research has inspired me and how i have took bits and put it onto my own magazine.

Location Recce

Three of my images will be shot in this studio, this is show i am able to shoot the images of them on a white background so its a clean image and i can use one of the images on the front cover to cut the background out. The photos show that the environment that i have chosen to use to shoot is safe and enough space, i will also use this location because it is available to me.

My model for the double page spread will be topless no no costume is needed and no props needed as i want to keep it minimalistic which i think it very effective.

Planning my Article

something that catches the readers attention and makes them want to read on, i haven't yet decided what exactly I am going to have but i have ideas which i have got help from my research of other magazines 

Images and Composition

 This image of Rihanna shows her posing in a a cheeky way with a smile on her face where we can see half her face because she is turning her head from a back view of her back where we see her tattoo which states she is confident in her body to show off her tattoo. She is shown in a plain costume where we can see just a bit of her top. The colours are plain, her nude skin colour and the black hair and black tattoo and background. Her make up is subtle. Her hair is shaven at the side we see of her head which shows she is rebellious and not afraid to be different.

Kelly is dressed with an urban edge with a leather motor bike jacket and big gold hoop ear rings showing her bad girl side, she had big thick curly hair covering a lot of her face but we see her eyes in the top third looking straight at the camera, her body language isn't as confident as Rihannas in the image above. Her body isn't facing the camera but her head slightly tilted towards us. We don't see a lot of her skin but from her eyes we can see she is confident and is giving a sturdy glare to the camera.

Peer Assessment of Flatplan

People said that my colour scheme is relevant to the model on the front cover being female. The house style is consistent, layout is good. To improve I need to add more to the contents page and take away and organise the double page spread. I agree with the improvements and will make the improvements and I am happy with the positives said about my flat plans. I am going to organise the double page spread by taking out some of the colour and making the image more dominant of the spread. On the contents page i will add more sell lines at the bottom to fill in the space maybe about current songs and albums in the charts now.

Flat Plan and Rational

Front Cover

This is a flat plan of my front cover. I chose to use only one image, and have it as a close up of my model looking straight forward. I think it will look good if I use natural make up with eye shadow to match the colour of the writing. I will have the image in full colour. I chose shades of pink and a purple colour because it will soften up the cover and contrast with the female model on the front. I haven't yet decided what will be on my sky line or sell lines so I just substituted those for the time being. 

Contents Page

The contents page follows the same colour scheme as the front cover with the pinks and purple, it isn't as busy as the front cover because it has one main image right justified and the table of contents down the left hand side. I want the reader to be able to locate the page of what they want easily without having to flick through the whole magazine to find the page they want to refer back.
The colours of the font i want to be different colours at random but still the pink and purple.  

Double Page Spread

The double page spread should be filling the full page, i want two images of my model on the double page speed, and quotation in bold around in the text. I think by having lots going on i think it will be effective because it will look appealing to the reader and want them to read the double page spread aswel as the advertising on the front cover for the topic of the spread. 

Research into a potential target audience (primary)

I conducted primary audience research in order to find out what may appeal to my target audience, to discover any flaws or potential improvements that could be made to my magazine genre. To identify any gaps in the market and place a refreshing new twist on the genre.

Research into potential target audience (secondary)

My Target Audience

From my research, I have been able to identify some key features of my intended target audience, which will affect the way in which I structure and produce my magazine.

Age- Between 16-30

Gender- An equal proportion of male and female this will help me decide on photography and how I represent stereotypes in my magazine.

Hobbies and Interests- Mainly music, buying gig tickets, attending concerts, festivals, travelling (seeing the world around them), the internet, social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Tumblr, Tube.

Media Influences- many media influences such as web 2.0, social networking sites, music channels such as MTV.

My main idea for the my magazine is R&B Hip-Hop, with a female artist on the front with the inspiration of the front covers ive chosen in my Prezi.

A magazine distributer should publish more than one music magazine because there is different genres of music so by having more than one it widens the target audience.
Bauer media already publish a range of music magazines but they don't publish an r&b magazine which is what i am going to publish, so by bringing something new to the company they widen their target audience.

Flat Plan and Rational

I'm going to use a pale pink background for my magazine front cover in order to appeal to more female students, I think pink is a flirty feminine colour. I want my main image in the middle of my front cover and the sell lines around the main image so that they are clear to read. The masthead has to be the biggest font because its the name of my magazine. The sell lines indicate the genre of my magazine because they mention exams, revision, students and things going on inside of college. The sell lines would appeal to student who currently have exams approaching and need to revise or students interested in sports.
